Fall/Thanksgiving Wrap Up from Luann's Loose Threads

Hello everyone.   I know it's been awhile.  I've just come back from my semi annual quilt retreat in Shipshewana, Indiana.   That was my first time being there in 3 years.  It was wonderful to see old friends and meet some new ones.  Several people asked what happened to my blog.   I've been over on Instagram lately.  My user name is loosethreads_luann if you want to follow me over there.  I've also been doing mostly cross stitch lately, but after being at the quilt retreat I'm inspired to do a bit of quilting.

We had a ...

A Pumpkin Mini from Wedding Dress Blue

Giant pumpkin contests are popular, but what I was looking for was a mini pumpkin.

I liked the look of THIS ONE, but wanted something smaller. So, I started with 2-1/2″ squares and ended up with a finished quilt 13″ square.

YAY! Mini pumpkins have their place, in this case, on a wall at the house of a friend.

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 37 ~ Back to Quilting from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome To Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 37

I have been quilting my Bats & Boos Quilt.

Nutmeg has been my ever present quilty helper and inspector for this quilt.

This is the first quilt that I have had on my long arm since early this year.

Where has the time gone?

Even Nutmeg looks puzzled.

Katniss is unconcerned.

As long as Katniss has her basket in the window, she is a happy cat.

I am quilting all over swirls of cauldron smoke on the backgrounds.

For the blocks, I am adding some custom free guided quilting.

It is good to be ...

Welcome Back from Luann's Loose Threads

Hello Everyone   If you are a returning visitor, I'm glad you're here.  And, welcome to new readers that have found me.  I guess I haven't  posted since blogger switched to this new format, and it was a stretch for me to get the photos into my blog.   Hopefully they will publish at the right size.

This is one of the quilts that I made last year.  This is a pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew, and it was a fun, easy stitch.   The Welcome sign came from Joyfully Said in Middlebury, Indiana.   I'm really missing my annual ...

Autumn Colours in Nature and Quilting, Free Patterns, Pumpkin Quilt from Canadian Needle Nana

Grey sky but scarlet and gold all around me. Even flying through the air. Two ravens gliding on the wind completed the autumn picture down by the pond today...but flew out of sight by the time I got the camera ready.

How lucky am I, I thought that this is part of my early morning walk.
Details in nature like this leafy canopy, I never tire of noting.
The colours reminded me of the Laundry Basket Pumpkin quilt that I stitched in 2018 and now have on the wall. Such enjoyment to work with those autumn type fabrics too ...

Cute 12" square wall hanging that can literally be made in a day!

Jack has quite the life....one moment in the pumpkin patch with his friends...then the next minute, hanging over the waters edge.

Placed Prairie Points on the back for a sleeve.  Stuck a stick through them to create a hanger.

You can see how it is quilted too.  Stitch in the Ditch through the seams... with very simple designs in his eyes, nose ...
